New Publications in Art and Art History

This book launch celebrates the publication of three now books by faculty from the Art & Art History Program at NYUAD: Sandra Peters' Chromed Columns Abu Dhabi City, Andreas Valentin's Inventing with Hélio Oiticica, and Shamoon Zamir's Photography and Citizenship: The Art and Politics of The Family of Man. Chromed Columns is a photobook explore a unique dimension of the architectural landscape of Abu Dhabi; Inventing with Hélio Oiticica is a memoir of a long friendship and collaboration with the well-known Brazilian artist; and Photography and Citizenship is a study of the ways in which photography and exhibition design helped model a cosmopolitan citizenship during the Cold War. The authors will present their work as an invitation to an open conversation. Light refreshments will be available.
