This class will explore fundamentals that are integral to understanding the range and detail of Trisha Brown's movement style. Emphasis will be placed on learning movement as the Company does, with attention to detail, spatial clarity, performance quality, and dancing with others. Phrase material from Working Title (1985) will be taught by current cast-member and veteran company dancer, Patrick Needham.
This workshop is suitable for participants 15 years and older, with some form of dance experience
Patrick Needham
Patrick Needham is an LA native living in New York City, where he earned his BFA in Dance and Choreography from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Along with being a current member of the Trisha Brown Dance Company, he has enjoyed collaborating with choreographers such as Maddie Schimmel and Netta Yerushalmy, among others. Needham has performed experimental dance theater with Company Stefanie Batten Bland and HOLDTIGHT. Teaching highlights include summer dance intensives at the ASWARA School of Dance in Malaysia and WESTSIDE Dance Project in Southern California. Needham's most recent endeavor has been teaching for the Trisha Brown Dance Company's Education programs, all while pursuing his performance career. Currently, he is thrilled to be focusing on a new chapter of creating his own choreography repertoire for future performances and events.
