Founded by Nawaf Al Janahi in 2020, Cineolio‘s mission is focused on promoting short films and expanding their audience reach internationally. With a growing network, the company presents a diverse selection of short films on the big screen in various venues and events around the world. 

The film program will be followed by a post-show talk moderated by Nawaf Al Janahi.

Puquio

Peru, 2024, 14 mins

Director: Samantha Avila | Genre: Narrative

A 99-year-old woman reflects on the life she built after being abandoned by her son during the Shining Path's terrorist attacks in Peru. To fulfill a promise of reunion, she has spent decades selling her dreams as stories, hoping they will bring her family back on her 100th birthday.

Tsutsue

Set in a small Ghanaian town at the edge of a large landfill site that spills into the ocean, the sons of a fisherman, Sowah and Okai, struggle to cope with the loss of their eldest brother, who drowned during a fishing expedition. Haunted by his demise, Okai believes their brother is still out there.
