Since childhood, Fairouz has found musical inspiration in literary and philosophical sources and has composed an opera, an oratorio, fifteen song cycles, and hundreds of art songs. In connection with his first world premiere piece written for BANG ON A CAN ALL-STARS, Fairouz will speak about his interpretation of music as illustrious language, and how he conceptualizes music and words in his symphonies.
