Politics in the Era of Emergent Hyper-Connectivity

How has digital technology re-wired politics? This talk provides the essential means for understanding the transformations in politics that are happening all around us. We have only recently become aware of the potentially harmful effects on democracy of these immensely powerful technologies which intervene in the political domain – from ‘fake news’ to personality profiling – but we have yet to fully grasp how and why this is unlikely to stop any time soon. Or what it means for democracy.
