Awarded the International Prize for Arabic Fiction, renowned author Saud Alsanousi discusses his book The Bamboo Stalk (Hamid bin Khalifa University Press, 2016), which takes an unflinching look at the lives of foreign workers in Arab countries and confronts the universal problems of identity, race, and religion. Joining Alsanousi is the book’s translator Jonathan Wright.
