This talk focuses on the merging of four academic disciplines: film, bioethics, epidemiology, and education. The collaborators discuss how serendipity brought them together, how the Spheres of Ethics Teaching Using Film (SOETUF) Cinemeducation Study was born, and how they advanced the field of ‘cinemeducation’ (i.e., use of film in the education of healthcare providers) by posing a scientific question and pursuing novel quantified methods.
