This presentation explores the unique educational possibilities offered by movies. Matthew Alexander, an internationally recognized expert on the use of movies in education, offers a brief autobiographical account of his own journey with the cinema before laying out the social, psychological, and archetypal appeal of the movies. He demonstrates a real-life example of using two movie clips to anchor a presentation on the medical interview, identifies the different objectives of using movies in education, and names multiple current movies that are ideal for teaching, whether in the classroom or in the therapist's office.
