One of the biggest challenges of the coming decades will be extending material prosperity to the populations of the Global South. While considerable progress has been made in recent years in improving human development, the specter of climate change, resource scarcity, and environmental degradation present new challenges that threaten to undermine these gains, particularly for the most vulnerable members of society. This conference aims to bring this perspective of understanding development policies and challenges to the forefront. To mark the global climate summit in the UAE (COP28) in 2023, this conference focuses on Climate Change and its Impacts on the Development of the Region.
