Dokha tobacco use is very common throughout the Gulf region, and appears to be emerging in other parts of the world. While the risks of use of other forms of tobacco are documented, very little is known about dokha. Rates of dokha use, water pipe and cigarettes are high in the UAE, despite current health promotion efforts. This conference is bringing together local and international experts in tobacco research along with government leaders in UAE to review the latest research and identify how research can further support tobacco control policy and practice in UAE.
