This talk explores the significant yet often overlooked threat of biological invasions. These invasions involve non-native species that, once introduced to new environments, can cause severe ecological and economic damage. Invasive species can lead to biodiversity loss and ecosystem disruption. The speaker will also address the enormous financial impact, arising from damage to agriculture, health, or infrastructure, and the efforts needed to control invasive species. By understanding and addressing this hidden threat, we can protect biodiversity and maintain ecosystem services essential for human well-being. Speakers
